This documentation is always evolving.
This article focuses on Mapcreator Next and its features. For details about the previous version of Mapcreator, click here.
Adding icons and text boxes takes just a few clicks: open the first tab, choose a desired set, click on an element, or drag it onto the map. When searching for an icon, keep in mind to use generic keywords, for example, “plane” or “sport” etc.
Styling
You have full control over the appearance of each element in the ‘’Styling’’ menu on the right. Here, you can adjust the element's color, size, rotation, and position. You can also add text to an icon, customize its style, and decide its placement relative to the icon.
Collision detection
If you enable ‘’Collision detection’’, only one element will be visible when overlapping occurs. In such cases, the icon or text box higher in the ‘’Layers’’ menu takes priority.
Lock position
The ‘’Lock position’’ feature prevents accidental movement of an element. Locked elements cannot be edited. To unlock and make changes again, simply click on the lock icon next to it in the Layers menu.
Location
If you know the exact location where you want to place an element, you can manually enter the desired coordinates or enter the address in the search bar.
