This article focuses on Mapcreator Next and its features. For details about the previous version of Mapcreator, click here.

In the Mapcreator Next dashboard, you can find all of your personal mapping projects as well as mapping projects created by your team members.

By using the ‘’+ New folder’’ button on the bottom left, you can create additional folders to place your maps in. This way, you can create your own categories and sort your project accordingly. To move a project to a certain folder, click on it once, select ‘’move to’’ and click on the designated folder. Projects can also be starred to highlight specific maps.

Important: Please note that if you delete a project from the ‘’My maps’’ section, it will also be deleted from additional folders. Placing the project in folders does not create an extra copy of the project. This also means that if a folder gets deleted, you can always find your project again in ‘’My Maps’’.

All mapping projects you create can be used as templates afterwards.
If you want to work with map templates, we recommend you to create a folder called ‘’templates’’ or star projects that you want to use as a template. From here, click once on the project you want to use and select ‘’duplicate’’ to create a copy. You can decide on a project name, as well as the location where this map will be stored.

You can now use the duplicate of this project as the map template, without making changes to the original template project.

Tip: By default, your projects are stored from newest - oldest, but you can find a drop-down menu on the top right to change this and for example show the starred mapping projects first.
