In this article, you will learn how to upload your own icon, image, or SVG into Mapcreator.
This documentation is always evolving.
The ability to add icons is essential for certain map projects. The tool offers a range of default icon sets, but we also allow you to add your own icon(s) or images in SVG format. All icons you upload are for single use only, if you want them to exist in your icon set please consult our support team.
Step 1: Navigate to the add elements menu
Once you open the tool, navigate to the ‘’add elements’’ menu. Here, you can select one of the icons from Mapcreator's wide collection or have the option to upload your own SVG.
Step 2: Select your SVG
Click on the ‘’upload icon’’ button and select the SVG you want to import from your files and click ‘’open’’ to upload it in the Mapcreator tool.
Step 3: Style your selected SVG
After your SVG has been added, you can resize it in the Mapcreator tool. By clicking on it from the map or selecting it from the elements list the styling menu will appear. From here, you can scale and rotate the SVG or attach it to a specific location.
In this menu you can also turn on collision detection, lock to screen and freeze position.
