This documentation is always evolving.
This article focuses on Mapcreator Next and its features. For details about the previous version of Mapcreator, click here.
To add routes in Mapcreator, you have a few options. Routes can be added manually by clicking on the map or from adding specific addresses/coordinates.
Select the ‘’Route’’ option from the drop-down menu on the top left to get started. You can select the transportation type beforehand; by car, by bicycle or pedestrian, but you can also change this after the route is finalized.
Method 1: Route calculated from the manually selected points on the map.
Start clicking anywhere on the map for the route to start, and click on new locations for the route to continue. To finish your route click again on the final anchor point.
Method 2: Route calculated automatically from the addresses/coordinates you enter. On the top right, you can find a pop-up menu with a search field. Here, you can enter the starting point address/coordinate (delimited with a comma, space or semicolon). Once the starting point is confirmed, simply type a new location where the route will continue. You can add as many location points as you wish. When you are happy with your route, click anywhere on the map for it to end.
Your route can be fully styled. In the ‘’Styling’’ menu you can edit the color, thickness and change it to the dashed or dotted line. You can also find the total distance of the route in the ‘’Styling’’ menu. If you want to change the route by car, by bicycle or pedestrian, simply click on the icons from the ‘’Location’’ menu and see your route automatically adjust.
By clicking once on the created route, a dotted support line appears. By clicking and dragging the anchor points, you will be able to manipulate where your route intercepts.
