This documentation is always evolving.
With Mapcreator, you can create a map displaying current weather alerts across Canada. The data includes active warnings, watches, and statements. It is updated hourly from the Environment and Climate Change Canada.
The layer highlights alert zones and also provides detailed reports for each area, which appear in pop-ups when the project is exported as an interactive map.
Where to find it
You can find this layer under the name ‘’CA Weather Alerts’’ in the ‘’Live Data’’ section of the ‘’Data overlay’’ menu.
Clicking the layer activates all available alerts. However, you can customize the visibility in the "Layers" menu and hide warnings, watches or statements.
How to get this map updated:
If you’d like to show this project as an interactive map on your website, we recommend you download this map as an iframe. The map will then also automatically update every 60 minutes.
And on a static map?
The data in the tool is always providing the most recent updates. Meaning that if you reopen an existing project in the tool, it will automatically also have the most recent data. Download your map again and you’re ready.
