How to add the most recent cyclone and typhoon data?

This documentation is always evolving.

With Mapcreator, you can generate a map displaying current cyclones and typhoons, updated every 60 minutes with data from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC)

The data layer includes the storm cone and wind speed zones, as well as previous, current, and forecasted tracks and arrival times. You can read a detailed overview of the layer's components here

Where to find it

You can find this layer in the ‘’Data overlay’’ menu and simply click to activate it.

To adjust the visibility of its elements, navigate to the ‘’Layers’’ menu. By default, the current and forecast information is visible, while previous data is hidden. However, you can enable it with a click if you are interested in a retrospective view.

How to get this map updated:

If you’d like to show this project as an interactive map on your website, we recommend you download this map as an iframe. The map will then also automatically update every 60 minutes.

And on a static map?

The data in the tool is always providing the most recent updates. Meaning that if you reopen an existing project in the tool, it will automatically also have the most recent data. Download your map again and you’re ready.
