What are live data overlays and where can they be found?

This documentation is always evolving.

This article focuses on Mapcreator Next and its features. For this article about the previous version of Mapcreator, click here.

Live data overlays
are additional layers from external sources that automatically update with the latest data. Interactive maps using these overlays stay up to date by continuously syncing with the original data source. Scroll down the page to see the live overlays in action.

Where to find live overlays?

All overlays can be found under the ‘’Data overlay’’ menu. Live overlays are positioned at the top of this menu, but you can also use the search bar to find specific layers. If you don't see these overlays in your list, please contact the Mapcreator support team.

Please note that this indicates how frequently Mapcreator requests data from the original sources. Since external providers may update their data on an irregular schedule, there might be times when newer information is available at the source but has not yet appeared in Mapcreator. In such cases, the data will likely sync during the next fetch.

Try out live overlays with the continuously updating interactive maps below.
If you don’t see any extra information on the map, it means there is currently no data to show.
