We have covered the basics of creating interactive maps here. Please check out this article first.
If you have a spreadsheet with locations and information for them in separate columns, you can use it to create an interactive map with pop-ups more quickly.
To import the spreadsheet, make sure it contains coordinates or addresses. Icons will appear at those locations once the data is added.
You can click on icons and customize them in the menu on the right. Some properties, marked with a table icon, can also be filled using data from your spreadsheet. For example, if your spreadsheet contains a column for icon colors or labels, those values can be imported. To do this, click on the table icon and select the corresponding column.
To create a pop-up, click on the added icon and navigate to the ‘’Pop-up’’ tab. You can select all icons at once to create uniform pop-ups or double-click on a single icon to create a pop-up for just that one.
In the ‘’Main content’’ section, you can add text for the pop-up. You can insert it directly from your spreadsheet by clicking the table icon and selecting the desired columns. Alternatively, you can use a shortcut by typing the column name preceded by a $. You can edit the text formatting in the "Text options" tab just like regular text.
If your spreadsheet contains columns with links to videos and images, you can also add them automatically. To do this, click on "+Add media" and select the corresponding columns.
