This documentation is always evolving.
This article focuses on Mapcreator Next and its features. For details about the previous version of Mapcreator, click here.
KML, GPX and GeoJSON files consist of shape data combined with geo-location and can be easily imported onto a map. Files can be imported one by one, but Mapcreator also allows bulk imports. There are two ways you can import your file(s); The easiest way to do it is to simply drag and drop the file on the map as shown below:
An alternative method is to access the import feature via the top bar. When using this method you will be able to browse through your computer's library and locate your file on the local drive.
Now that you have your shape on the map, you can further style it according to the needs of your project. To style the imported element simply click on it once. This opens a popup with all the styling options. You can change the color of the fill, the stroke and change the transparency.
Items can also be selected from the ‘’Layers’’ menu. This is where you can move your element up or down, so that for example certain labels are above or below your added shape or route. By clicking the three dots next to the added element, the pop-up opens allowing you to move the item up, down, bring to the front or set to the back.
